The original CEN 04/2026 notified 3,993 vacancies. The examination fee refund is applicable only to candidates who actually appear in the 1st Stage CBT. The notification also specifies that the refund will be credited to an Aadhaar-seeded bank account after the required validation process.

The age limit for the notified posts is calculated as on 01 January 2027. The general age group specified in the notification is 18 to 33 years, subject to the applicable category-wise relaxation.

RRB JE Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of computer-based examinations followed by the applicable stages. The notification states that the 1st Stage CBT is common for all notified posts and is primarily used for screening candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT.

Candidates eligible for the use of a scribe will get 120 minutes. The CBT-I contains objective multiple-choice questions. There is negative marking of one-third of the marks allotted for each question for every wrong answer.

The notification states that a virtual calculator will be available on the computer monitor during the 2nd Stage CBT. Negative marking of one-third of the marks allotted for each question is applicable.
